Welcome to Our New Tutors and Receptionists, Part 2

Hey guys! I'm Amy Atwood, one of the co-editors of the MC Writing Center Blog. I am so excited to work with my fellow co-editor Mary Margaret Freeman. The Writing Center is open for business with returning tutors that you might recognize and some new ones that you might not!

Here is Part 2 introducing our new tutors and receptionists this year. Check out our new staff page here for more information about our tutors and receptionists.

Colburn Wyatt Jones

Cole Jones is a junior English Writing major, and his dream job is to be a college professor who writes on the side. His favorite study spot is by the window in his room where he listens to the Skyrim soundtrack. He wants to learn French in order to become a better cook. A fun fact about Cole is that he got published when he was 16!

Sophie Hawkins

Sophie Hawkins is a junior Psychology major, and her dream job is to become an author and/or cryptid. Her favorite study spot is The Piazza where she listens to Lofi hip-hop radio on YouTube while studying. If she could learn any language in a day, it would be Klingon, from Star Trek. A fun fact about Sophie is that she is a BIG fan of horror movies!

Brooke Ingram

Brooke Ingram is a senior English Writing major, and her dream job is to be a travel journalist or an author. The Piazza is her favorite place to study on campus while listening to 70s Soft Rock. Avery Kosmicki

Avery Kosmicki is a Language, Writing, and Linguistics major, and he does not have a dream job. He would be happy with most jobs and doesn’t have any plans in particular for his career path. However, a fun fact about Avery is that he enjoys drawing and animation.

Sophia Lang is a junior English Education major, and her dream job is to be an English or German teacher. Her favorite place to study on campus is the library while listening to anything by Chopin. Merrin Meyer is a sophomore English Literature major, and her dream job is to be a publisher. She listens to her playlist “quiet hours/studying” while at the Piazza, her favorite study spot on campus. If she could learn any language in a day, she would choose Japanese. Julia Morse

Julia Morse is a senior Interdisciplinary Studies major, and her dream job is to be a homeschool mom while helping the homeless in New Orleans. While studying, she listens to chill lofi music in her room or at Cups. If she could learn any language in a day, she would choose Spanish.
